Graduation project about men interacting with children
I’ve started this project because of the negative stories in the news about pedophiles and pedophilia. In my opinion the fear of men interacting with children is growing and is transforming to paranoia.
But, the fear has a flip side. Of course being cautious and carefulis a good thing, but when it transforms in to paranoia it creates situations where we are not always aware of the results.
Men without the exclusive preference for children are increasingly withdrawing themselvesfrom the lives of children out of fear of being accused a pedophile.
Also in the business world the phenomenon occurs that less men are working in schools and daycares, partly because of this fear.
Both men and woman are crucial for the development of children. When men stand aside, we have gone from being cautious to fearful and paranoid.
With this work I invite people to look through a little hole and be an individual observer from the scenes that are displayed. In my opinion the fear of men interacting with children has become a mass-affair and therefore I’d like to give people the opportunity to look at everyday scenes as an individual and formulate and examine their own opinions about it.
